Our ongoing summertime series might be uncharted territory for many. We are looking at the section of the Bible that is known commonly as The Minor Prophets.
We will be looking at three books; Amos, Hosea and Jonah of the early kingdom of Israel. Although peace reigned, the nation was a spiritual mess. There was injustice, the rich mistreating the poor, chasing after false gods, and empty religious practices. God calls on the prophets to tell the northern kingdom “it is over!” Today’s message is entitled "The Heart of the Matter”.
We are starting a summertime series, going through what, for many, would be uncharted territory; we will be looking at the section of the Bible that is known commonly as The Minor Prophets.
This morning, we will be looking at Micah, only one of our Minor Prophets. Overall, what we can read out of his writings, what we might even take to ourselves these 2700-plus years later, is that there is hope in the face of failure, especially for those who put their trust in God.
God’s presence in our lives makes a difference in how we live, in our families, in our finances and in relationships. We live differently because we are members of a new kingdom and we demonstrate now, Kingdom living. God has something to say about our families, specifically, he has designated roles and relationships within it. As we continue in our new series which speaks to the sovereignty of God, we will be talking about God’s rule within our finances.
